Aussies Play for Bronze - Baseball

Australia’s run toward World Cup Gold came to an end after going down 10-1, in a near perfect performance by tournament favourites Japan, on Day 4 of the 2008 Women’s World Cup in Matsuyama.

The Japanese were relentless as they punched out 15 hits and scored at least one run in every inning to stand alone as the tournament’s only remaining undefeated team.

Aussie Women fall to USA - Baseball


After two near flawless performances to open their World Cup campaign the Australian Women’s Baseball Team ran into a serious reality check in the form of a disappointing 11-1 loss to the United States on Day Three.


Despite the loss, head coach John Gaynor remained positive as the team enters the 2nd phase of the tournament, confident his troops can bounce back.


“We were nowhere near our best today, but if there was ever a time to have a bad game, today was it,” Gaynor said.

Australia knock up a win at the World Cup - Baseball

Our Aussie Women kicked off their campaign in the Women's Baseball World Cup with a smashing 15-0 win over India on Sunday.

Shae Lillywhite led the scoring with 3 runs followed by Christina Kreppold, Renee Straumietis, Samantha Hamilton and Tahnee Lovering all with 2 a piece.

Vikings Futsal Cup 2008 - Tournament Results

Northern Australia have taken out the 2008 Vikings Futsal tournament in New Zealand this week. Northern Australia defeated New Zealand 4-2 in the final after an unbeaten run in the in the preliminary rounds.

Southern Australia secured 3rd place defeating the Philippines 5-2 in the final.

Australian Women Oceana Champions - 7s Rugby Union

Australia have defeated New Zealand in a thriller to be crowned Oceania champions in their first Rugby 7s outing. Both teams have now qualified for the 7s World Cup to be held in Dubai next year.
